Stone splashbacks are also a popular choice as it offers many advantages over other products. For example if you are using stone on your bench, you can use the same colour for your splashback creating a modern seamless look that continues up the wall. The colours and textures of the stone also hide those little cleaning imperfections such as oil or finger prints, therefore making a stone splash back a lot easier to manage.
It is recommended that there is a minimum 200mm clearance from the periphery of the gas burner to the splashback, as per the AS/NZS standards, AS/NZS 4386.2:1996Domestic Kitchen Assemblies – Installation.
It is not recommended for quartz stone to be used in exterior applications, as when quartz is exposed to direct sunlight it may result in colour change and warping.
